BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (B.S.) IN BIOLOGY

Core Curriculum:

Biology of cells, plants, and animals, ecology, and genetics completed by all students.

Emphasis Areas:

Students select one of five emphasis areas based on career objectives.  Each emphasis area includes a concentration in junior and senior courses that meets specific interests.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (B.S.) IN WILDLIFE ECOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT

This degree program provides students with a well-balanced background in biology, zoology, wildlife ecology, and natural resource management.  Graduates have the knowledge and skills necessary to collect and to integrate ecological data that will enable them to determine reasonable management strategies to enhance or to regulate wildlife populations or related natural resources.

This degree is designed to provide graduates with the requisite background to compete and to perform competently in the profession as wildlife technicians, managers, researchers, natural resource educators, or in related positions at regional, national and international levels.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN EDUCATION (B.S.E.)

For students preparing to teach Biology at the Junior High or High School level.  The program is updated annually to meet the licensing requirements for the state of Arkansas.  The curriculum includes courses in biology content, science education, and core educational requirements.
