The "Laser Jocks" are a team of faculty in the Department of Chemistry & Physics embodying a diverse background in laser-based research.  Laser expertise within the group includes such areas as laser spectroscopy (tunable infrared diode laser spectroscopy and cavity ringdown spectroscopy), laser materials, processing (laser enhanced deposition, laser cleaning, and laser machining), the synchronization of multiple pulsed lasers including a free-electron laser, and studies involving ultra-fast lasers.  The Laser Jocks were awarded the first Department of Defense contract at Arkansas State University.  The group also consists of post docs, research assistants, graduate assistants, undergraduates, and staff.
