2007-2008 College of Engineering Ambassadors Civil Engineering: Jonathan Barfield and Brad Marotti Electrical Engineering: Anthony Cole and Joshua Hager Mechanical Engineering: Ben Hays and Cody Milburn
Purpose The Engineering Ambassadors is a group of College of Engineering (COE) students selected to promote the COE and the engineering and technology fields. These students will serve the COE in a variety of ways. Activities will include student mentoring and recruiting, assisting with new-student orientation, and serving as COE representatives at various university-sponsored events.
Selection Process Students will be selected by April 1 by the faculty from each major area in the COE to initially fill a total of 16 openings for 2006/07. The goal is to have four students from each major area (CE, ECIE, ME and TECH) to serve as COE Ambassadors.
Time Commitment COE Ambassadors are expected to be dedicated and committed to the program. Regular meetings will be held and attendance is expected by all ambassadors. Therefore, students should make sure class and work schedules do not conflict with meeting times. Each ambassador is expected to participate in a majority of the scheduled events. Every effort will be made to have at least one representative from each major area attend every event. The COE Ambassadors program will require time and commitment, but you will have fun, learn a lot, and contribute much. If your schedule will not permit you to wholeheartedly participate, then this program is probably not for you.
Stipend and Other Benefits COE Ambassadors will receive a $100 per year, and the one voted most outstanding by other Ambassadors will receive an additional $500. Each ambassador will also be provided a shirt with ASU and COE Ambassador logos to be worn at events. Travel expenses will also be paid by the college. The COE Ambassador program is recognized as a prestigious collegiate organization. Involvement in this program will provide you with opportunities to improve public speaking and leadership skills, and to grow professionally. Consequently, this experience will be a valuable addition to your resume. Please contact Dr. Rick Clifft or Krista Webb as soon as possible to pickup an application to become a COE Ambassador or you may download the forms via the links below.
